Virtual course of:Coursera |
The main objective of this course is to teach your students the basic concepts of computer programming through the Python language. The basics of how a program is built from a series of simple Python statements will be covered. The course “MOOC - Coursera - Programming for Everyone (Getting Started with Python)” is ideal for beginners in this program as it has no prerequisites and avoids all but a bit of the simplest math. Anyone with some basic computer knowledge could easily master and understand the materials offered in this first course. This course covers Chapters 1 through 5 of the textbook.
The course “Programming for everyone (Getting started with Python)” it's perfect for someone who knows nothing about Python. People with prior knowledge of other languages such as coc ++ will surely find it very easy to follow the course, but it will also be very useful if your interest is to enter this new world known as Python. The instructor, Dr Chuck will be a great guide in the process. His ability to transmit his knowledge will make the process more bearable and easy both for those initiated in programming and for those who already have some previous study.
CHAPTER ONE - WHY DO WE PROGRAM? In this first part of Chapter One of the book “Python for everyone” we explore the meaning of writing programs. We finished Chapter One and you will have your first test and homework in the third week of class. Throughout the course, you may want to come back and view and review these materials. This section shouldn't take you more than a week.
INSTALL AND USE PYTHON. In this module you will configure everything you need to be able to write Python programs. Not all of the activities in this module are required for this class, so it will be important to read the "Using Python in this Class" material for more details.
CHAPTER ONE: WHY WE PROGRAM (CONTINUED) In the first chapter we seek to cover the "big picture" of programming so that you get a "table of contents" of the entire book, study material for this course. Don't worry if what you're studying doesn't make much sense at first. This chapter is really extensive, but it will be of great help to read the chapter in the book as well as to see the lectures, which you find in the course that will help you better assimilate everything. It will again be very helpful to go back to the videos and readings in this module after you have completed a few more chapters.
CHAPTER TWO: VARIABLES AND EXPRESSIONS In this chapter we cover how a program uses computer memory to store, retrieve, and calculate information.
CHAPTER THREE: CONDITIONAL CODE In this section, we move from sequential code that simply executes one line of code after another to conditional code where some steps are skipped. It's a very simple concept, but that's how the computer software makes "decisions".
CHAPTER FOUR: FUNCTIONS This is a short module, but in it you will understand the importance of functions and how they should be used. In the first programs developed in modules, functions are not required, since they are very small, but as the book progresses and we are presented with more elaborate programs, functions will be an essential way for our codes to make sense.
CHAPTER FIVE: LOOPS AND ITERATION In this final module of this introductory Python course, we'll look at loops and iteration that complete the four basic programming patterns. Loops are how we tell Python to do something repetitively. Loops are how we create programs that stay with a problem until the problem is solved.

ABOUT THE SPECIALIZED PROGRAM PYTHON FOR EVERYONE. This course is part of the specialized program "Python For Everyone" available on Coursera. This specialization is based on Dr Chuck's book, "Python for Everybody" and will help you understand the basics of programming including data structures, network application programming interfaces, and databases, working with the language of Python programming. In the Capstone Project (it is the degree project to obtain certification of successful completion of the specialized program), you will put into practice the knowledge and technologies learned throughout the Specialization to design and create your own applications for the recovery, processing and visualization of data.

June 18, 2021 at 5: 57 pmAll in all, this is a very good course for beginners.
Including depth in the topic and more concepts will be very useful. I should also note that this is a course that is part of a package of courses that address other topics.

August 25, 2021 at 3: 59 pmThis course has really helped me understand the importance of the Python language in daily life. I recommend it to everyone who is new to Python and wants to learn its basics.
Second, the gentleman explained it very well and it is understandable. I literally divided each concept into different parts for better learning.
Third, I enjoyed making tests and program to run, it shows how clear we are.
Lastly, it was a beautiful experience. I thanked my universities who recommended this to me. You should give it a try, I'm sure you'll love it.
