This "Using Databases with Python" course will cover the basics of Structured Query Language (SQL), as well as basic database design for storing data as part of a process of collecting, analyzing, and processing data. of several steps. In the course we will use SQLite3 as your database. We will also develop web crawlers and other multi-step data collection and visualization processes. We will use the D3.js library to visualize basic data. This course addresses chapters 14 to 15 of our guide book
As you delve into this specialized program on Python “Python for everyone” , the great contribution of the instructor, Charles Severance, is beginning to be perceived. For many of the students who reach this point in the study, they express their great satisfaction at seeing how Dr. Cuck, as he is affectionately recognized in the community, teaches this language in the simplest way possible. It presents the content of the different modules in a very friendly way.
In this grade “Use databases with Python”, key topics are addressed today such as object-oriented programming. Provides good exposure to SQL, and includes a geocoding module. Also at this point you begin to have greater freedom over what you have already learned, which allows you to start experimenting a little more on your own.
OBJECT-ORIENTED PYTHON. This class starts by covering the basics of object-oriented Python. No objects of our own will be written, but considering that many of the things that will be used in the course like BeautifulSoup, strings, dictionaries, database connections actually implement object-oriented (OO) patterns, we should at least understand some of their patterns and terminology.
BASIC STRUCTURED QUERY LANGUAGE. You will learn the four main operations of Create, Read, Update and Delete or CRUD, for its acronym in English, to be able to manage the data stored in a database.
DATA MODELS AND RELATIONAL SQL. In this section of our, you will learn how data is stored in different tables in a database and how rows in the database can be linked. You will know how to establish relationships between tables.
MANY-TO-MANY RELATIONSHIPS IN SQL. In this part of our course on “Using Databases with Python” we will explore how to model real situations such as students enrolling in courses, where each course has many students and each of those students would be enrolled in many courses. .
DATABASES AND VISUALIZATION. In our final module of the course, it all comes together. We retrieve and process different data and finally we use the Google Maps API to visualize our data.

ABOUT THE SPECIALIZED PROGRAM PYTHON FOR EVERYONE. This course is part of the specialized program "Python For Everyone" available on Coursera. This specialization is based on Dr Chuck's book, "Python for Everybody" and will help you understand the basics of programming including data structures, network application programming interfaces, and databases, working with the language of Python programming. In the Capstone Project (it is the degree project to obtain certification of successful completion of the specialized program), you will put into practice the knowledge and technologies learned throughout the Specialization to design and create your own applications for the recovery, processing and visualization of data.
