The courses included in this list of the 100 best Coursera courses include only the individual courses available on the e-Learning platform. This means that the more advanced formats available on Coursera, such as specialized programs, or Professional Certificates, among other categories of study, are not included. However, the courses that ranked in Coursera's 100 best courses of all time could be part of these advanced formats, since these are usually made up of packages of individual courses, which complement each other.

Coursera partners with more than 200 leading universities and companies to bring flexible, affordable, and work-relevant online learning to people and organizations around the world. We offer a variety of learning opportunities, from hands-on projects and courses to job readiness certificates, professional credentials, and degree programs.

Coursera was founded by Daphne Koller and Andrew Ng with the vision of providing learning experiences that transform the lives of students around the world. Today, more than 75 million students, more than 100 Fortune 500 companies, and more than 6,400 campuses, businesses, and governments come to Coursera for access to world-class learning, anytime, anywhere.

Continuing with the exploration of the best courses of the most relevant platforms in the world in online education, AulaPro reveals which are the virtual courses with the highest ratings, and in turn the largest number of them, within the catalog of the platform of e -Learning Coursera, made up of more than 3.500 individual courses. As we mentioned, this list does not include the most advanced study formats.

The Coursera platform was consolidated in the last year as one of the most influential in the virtual education environment, thanks to its determined support for the continuity of the study for millions of people in the world affected by the pandemic. Coursera offered the world's universities and governments the possibility for students from the former, and citizens from the latter, to fully access its course catalog. More than 6.000 educational institutions and government entities of the world, and later companies, agreed to this possibility. With a proposal of services that the world needed at such a critical moment, Coursera managed, in one year, to practically double the registered students, which it had acquired in all the time of operation (about 8 years), and in turn double the traffic to its website, achieving new users who took courses, professional certifications, guided projects, specialized programs, or even undergraduate and postgraduate studies from prestigious universities in the world.

But this list, as we mentioned, only focuses on the courses.

This explosion of new students, coming from different initiatives, allowed the Coursera development team to put its platform to the maximum with successful results, optimizing the learning experience.

Coursera also recently managed to obtain the B Corp Certification. This certification is one of the most important assessments currently pursued by the most recognized companies worldwide.

According to B Lab, the organization that delivers this recognition, “Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.”

Coursera started the MOOC revolution. Initially, the project was conceived as a social responsibility effort by Stanford University, by allowing people from different parts of the world to access courses that, in fact, were part of the classes taught in some of its face-to-face programs. But that was 10 years ago.

While that part of the Coursera model continues, with deep technology and experience enhancements, Coursera has evolved to become a comprehensive solution across all stages of learning a student might need.
That is why, then, I believe that the academic offer and its variety should settle the debate on whether it is a good decision to study, basically anything on Coursera.

The courses in this list are not only guaranteed to be developed by prestigious educational institutions in the world, or technology companies of the highest relevance worldwide.

Another characteristic of Coursera's virtual courses is that educational institutions allocate their best teachers for their development, so it will be very common for instructors to find teachers who usually have a doctorate level. , or be deans, and in technology companies that offer virtual courses on Coursera, they often have their most talented workers.

This, in addition to the evaluation of the students, makes the level of the Coursera courses very high. But getting the most out of the content will depend exclusively on the student, who must be aware that part of the virtual learning process involves a high component of honesty and discipline, without which the training can become ephemeral.

For most topics, especially those related to new technologies, digital skills, or digital transformation, practicing what has been learned outside the learning environment of the platform, be it Coursera, or any other, will make what has been learned become strongly incorporated. to our knowledge, and be a real added value in the professional field.

These virtual courses comply, like the others found in AulaPro, with the criteria that we have contemplated in our assessment methodology, which is based on three fundamental aspects:

  • student assessment
  • Quality of your instructors
  • Content validity

But in addition to these considerations, within the base of more than 3.500 courses that we have segmented, these courses also met additional criteria to be included:

Course language: They are the most highly rated courses whose base language of the course is English or Spanish (only a few Spanish-based courses ranked in the top 100, taking these criteria into account), however, it is important to say that most, if not all These courses have automatic subtitles in different languages, including, of course, Spanish.

Qualification: The courses included have a rating of 4.5 or higher.
Review: In general, the courses included in the AulaPro platform must have a minimum of 100 opinions from previous students. Courses that reached this top 100 got at least 20.000 student reviews. The first course obtained more than 340.000 opinions.
