Although living brains are very complex, this module uses metaphors and analogies to help keep things simple. You will discover several fundamentally different modes of thinking and how you can use these modes to enhance your learning. You'll also be introduced to a tool for tackling procrastination, given practical insights into memory, and uncovered surprisingly helpful insights into learning and sleep. (Note that this module should only take about an hour; the additional time quoted refers to purely optional activities).
In this module, we will talk about fragments. Snippets are compact packets of information that your mind can easily access. We'll talk about how you can form snippets, how you can use snippets to enhance your understanding and creativity with the material, and how snippets can help you do better on tests. We will also explore the illusions of competition in learning, the challenges of overlearning, and the benefits of interleaving.
In this module, we talk about two closely connected ideas: procrastination and memory. Building strong chunks in long-term memory (chunks that can be easily accessed by short-term memory) takes time. That is why it is so important to learn to manage procrastination. Finally, we talk about some of the best ways to access your brain's most powerful long-term memory systems.
In this module, we'll talk more about important ideas and techniques that will improve your ability to learn. You'll also discover how to interact more profitably with other students, how to recognize your own strengths, and how to avoid "imposter syndrome." Fighter pilots and surgeons use checklists to help them with their critical tasks; You can use a similar checklist to help you prepare for tests. Ultimately, you will learn more about the joys of living a life full of learning.

June 7, 2021 at 5: 30 pmI found this course very useful. It was interesting to learn that my shorter working memory is related to my creative abilities and my need to make daily to-do lists is already recommended. One thing I do on my lists is I add short fun tasks that are easy to complete and tell myself that I can do the fun tasks if I do the most undesirable tasks first. I also find that highlighting things on my to-do list is like a little pat on the back for completing tasks and less of a hassle than crossing things off that would later distract me and I would have to rewrite my list to make it tidy. I will definitely apply the tips and tricks I have learned, like writing lists before bed, in my day to day and not only for difficult topics.
Thank you!
