Explore its essential features, and click the orange button to get detailed information on the Coursera e-Learning platform
This class is intended for individuals interested in understanding the basic science of plant biology.
In this series of four lectures, we will first learn about the structure-function of plants and plant cells.
Then, we will try to understand how plants grow and develop, forming structures as complex as flowers.
Once we know how plants grow and develop, we will deepen our understanding of photosynthesis: how plants take carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil and turn it into oxygen for us to breathe and sugars for us to eat.
In the last lesson, we will learn about the fascinating, important, and controversial science behind genetic engineering in agriculture.
