Are you interested in the Spanish language and do you care about the correctness, style and variations of the Spanish language? Are you curious about the Spanish and Argentine or American variations of Spanish studied in literate reference texts? In this course, some relevant aspects of these varieties of the language are studied empirically with significant data from the Hispanic versions of JD Salinger: «The hidden hunter», Argentine; and "The Catcher in the Rye", Spanish.
The Evaluation Surveys of the previous edition (http://bit.

In this course, with a polycentric consideration of the language, the aim is to activate or enhance interest in correcting one's own and others' texts; for the stylistic differences in two versions of GV Higgins; and by the peninsular and Argentine or American varieties of the Spanish language in the different versions of JD Salinger.
The purpose of the course is twofold.
Before a foreign text arouse interest in what is said; and about how it would be said better: with more clarity, with more precision, with more propriety, with a 'style' of higher quality argued linguistically.
And, when faced with an own text, raise concerns about how best to say what is intended: more clearly, unequivocally; With more precision; with more general and sanctioned taste; with 'style' of best regard.
Completing this course will allow you to: 1.
First, identify, announce and argue the possible drawbacks (without prestige) of expression in texts by Spanish authors.
2.
Second, to study and evaluate the alternatives and variations (in style?) between two current Spanish versions of «Los Amigos de Eddie Coyle», by GV Higgins (1973 [El Chivato] versus the 2011 version), 3.
Third, to study and empirically evaluate some significant aspects of the alternatives and variations of Spanish in Spain and Argentina with data from the four Spanish versions of JD Salinger ("The guard in the rye", Spanish versions of 1978 and hunter of 2007; and "The hidden one", Argentine versions of 1961 and 1998).
These last two objectives are more valuable for two reasons: • The observational texts undoubtedly fulfill an essential condition in the linguistic empirical analysis and evaluation: the condition of the 'paraphrase': real (with differences in style, in the texts Higgins) or alternative (with variations of language, Argentine and American, or peninsular, in Salinger's versions), which say, or intend to say what is said in the source text.
• The versions of 'The Guardian…' / 'The Hunter…', from different subjects, allow language variations according to the different moments of the version or according to the territorial variety of language.
It is not a course about data.
It is a course that, with some data, operates on the competence to notice inconveniences or expressive successes and on the evaluation and argumentation of different alternatives of expression and of some manifestations of the Argentine and Spanish variety of language.
