What is Library Science
According to EcuRed: The term Library Science derives from the Greek words Biblion (Book), theke (Box) and logos (Word, verb). The definition of Library Science is provided for the first time by Domingo Buonocuore (1940) as "the systematic set of knowledge related to the Book and the Library". In this way, Library Science would be a branch of Library Science that would include, in addition to the first, Bibliology, Library Science, Bibliography and Library Science. Sciences that all encompass the study of the book itself and libraries. In addition, Library Science would be supported by different auxiliary disciplines such as Paleography, Philology and Historical Methodology.
