In our 6-week Robotics Capstone, we'll give you the opportunity to implement a solution to a real-world problem based on the content you learned from courses in your robotics major. It will also give you the opportunity to use mathematical and programming methods that researchers use in robotics labs.
You'll choose between two tracks: On the simulation track, you'll use Matlab to simulate a moving inverted pendulum, or MIP. The material required for this capstone track is based on courses in mobility, aerial robotics, and estimation. On the hardware track, you'll need to purchase and assemble a rover kit, raspberry pi, pi camera, and IMU to enable your rover to autonomously navigate through its own environment Hands-on programming experience will show you've got the basics right of robot motion, planning, and perception, and that you can translate them into a variety of practical applications in real-world problems. Completion of the cornerstone will better prepare you to enter the field of robotics, as well as a growing and growing number of other career paths where robots are changing the landscape of nearly every industry.
